1 | can | (6 oz.) Italian style tomato paste | |

2 | tablespoons | cream cheese, softened | |

2 | teaspoons | dried basil leaves | |

1 | loaf | (16 oz.) Italian bread, sliced 1/4 inch thick | |

8 | ounces | mozzarella cheese,thinly sliced | |
|
Combine tomato paste, cream cheese and basil in small bowl.
Toast bread sliced on ungreased cookie sheet, turning to toast both sides. Remove from oven.
Spread 2 teaspoons tomato mixture onto each bread slice; top with 1 slice mozzarella cheese.
Return to oven and broil for 1-2 minutes or until cheese begins to melt.
